Atlas Sound CD4 - Rack Mount Compact Disc Storage Shelf 3RU- OK Pros Cons

The Atlas Sound CD4 - Rack Mount Compact Disc Storage Shelf (Holds 40 CD's) 3RU is just about the only rack shelf out there for CD storage. Made from steel. It's pricey too.




Pros
  • PROS: It is VERY sturdy to hold up in DJ use. It has dividers to keep the CDs from falling over. It is a depth that lets a half inch of the CD to protrude for easy grasp. The paint is a tough textured finish that is a very dark gray instead of a slick black. It's OK. The shipping box was OK.
Cons
  • CONS: No screw and clip hardware was included. Each corner of the shelf had a big dent like a divot in it. This was obviously prior to paint so it happened in manufacturing. So if you want a real clean, classy looking perfect shelf, this isn't it. However once it's installed most folks wouldn't see the dents.

How many rack spaces does the storage shelf take up?

The CD4 is 3RU, 5 1/2" (13.97 cm) in Height, 19" (48.26 cm) in Width, and 5 5/16" (13.49 cm) in depth. If you need a CAD drawing please let us know.
